With plenty of a-list and glamorous visitors (Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts have both stayed at the hotel), the spa may be small, but it’s as grand and exclusive as you’d expect. A visit here makes you feel like a movie star, from the doorman who greets you, to the opulent Art Deco surroundings and the walnut and marble changing rooms. To add to the exclusivity, guest numbers are limited, so it’s never busy. If you’re going out straight from the spa, you could even book in for a magical hair make-over at the Charles Worthington salon.

I visited the Dorchester Spa for a day of serious pampering and that is exactly what I got. The spa was both luxurious and exclusive so that I felt like a superstar all day and then the treatments were so wonderful, that I think I may have even left looking like one! I really recommend the Eve Lom facials.
