Stop the press! For housed within the hotel (formerly the Scotsman newspaper building) is arguably one of the sleekest, trendiest spas in all Scotland. Its minimalist aesthetic-well illustrated in its slate tiles, glass corridors and gleaming steel mezzanine floors- creates the perfect backdrop for some serious spa-going. A toasty 29.4 degrees is the ideal temperature of the 16m stainless steel pool, a first for Scotland. Equally attractive are the Tropical and Arctic showers, the former's yang complimenting the latter's ying to perfection. Of the numerous treatments, which run the whole gamut from a back massage to a salt scrub, perhaps the most relaxing is the Indian head massage. Some say they have seen guests levitating after one of these.
